Festival Panorama 2009 em cartaz | Panorama Festival 2009 is happening
Com mais de 30 atrações espalhadas nos espaços mais diversos da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, começa na quinta-feira (5/11) o Festival Panorama de Dança 2009. Até dia 15 de novembro passarão por solo carioca grandes nomes da dança contemporânea mundial, como Alain Buffard, Vera Mantero e o Ballet de Lorraine, além de importantes artistas brasileiros.
A abertura oficial terá o Ballet de Lorraine com Répertoire – Lamentation (Martha Gaham), La mère e Étude révolutionnaire (Isadora Duncan), Duo d’Eden (Maguy Marin), Steptext (William Forsythe), no Teatro João Ceatano, a partir das 20h. A noite também lembrará o crítico de dança Roberto Pereira, morto em junho deste ano, aos 43 anos. O festival prestará homenagem ao pesquisador e professor com a participação da pianista Cadu Pereira e a exibição de uma seleção de cenas do início da dança no cinema.
Às 16h, porém, as crianças já podem conferir De esconder para lembrar, que dá a largada nos espetáculos do Panoraminha, a programação infantil do festival, no Espaço SESC. O trabalho usa a dança contemporânea para explorar sonhos, medos e lembranças infantis. Também participam do Panoraminha este ano: Borbulho, de Chamecki & Lerner, “à la carte” um convite ao universo das danças urbanas, de Rodrigo Bernardi, e Quando eu crescer, eu quero ser…, do Teatro Xirê.
Nesta sexta-feira, o francês Alain Buffard mostra (Not) a love song a partir das 20h no Teatro Carlos Gomes. Neste trabalho, o coreógrafo convidou intérpretes-criadores consagrados para participar desta livre homenagem ao cinema. A noite também tem a estreia de Nada. Vamos ver, de Gustavo Ciríaco, na CAIXA Cultural – Teatro Nelson Rodrigues, e o lançamento de Membros, livro de Paulo Azevedo e Taís Vieira. Às 18h, no Centro Coreográfico.
Ainda entre os brasileiros, a Companhia Ângelo Madureira e Ana Catarina Vieira mostra O animal mais forte do mundo.2 (foto) dia 12 de novembro, às 20h, no Teatro Carlos Gomes. Para eles, que participaram do Panorama em 2005, a expectativa é grande depois de tantos anos. “Nosso trabalho mudou muito. Queremos ver como será, agora, o contato do público com nossa pesquisa de linguagem. Já estivemos no Rio em outras oportunidades, mas fora do festival não é a mesma coisa. Ele mobiliza a classe artística, promove intercâmbios com outros artistas”, acredita Ana Catarina.
II Seminário Economia da Dança começa segunda-feira
Depois de uma bem sucedida estreia em 2008 – que gerou até um desdobramento em Salvador -, o Seminário Economia da Dança volta a ser organizado este ano. Ele acontecerá de segunda à quarta-feira, no Auditório do Centro de Referência do Artesanato Brasileiro do Sebrae (Praça Tiradentes 71, Centro), a partir das 9h30 (na parte da tarde acontecem os grupos de trabalho).
Nesta edição, os relatos/discussões pretendem aproximar os eixos economia e dança, partindo de suas tensões no mundo de hoje. Para isso, os convidados apresentarão diferentes cenários nacionais e internacionais. O objetivo – assim como em 2008 – é produzir documentos que possam servir de material de consulta futura. As discussões produzidas em 2008 estão disponíveis no blog do seminário. A iniciativa é uma parceria do Festival Panorama com o Sebrae.
Outro sucesso já experimentado em edições anteriores do Panorama, a programação do Sentido>Centro volta a tomar espaços públicos e/ou alternativos da cidade no segundo fim de semana do festival, dias 13 e 14 de novembro. Os franceses da Cia. Farid’O mostram Estar na rua no Largo Albino Pinheiro, no Centro, às 15h e às 18h30. O trabalho explora um cruzamento de culturas e disciplinas e foi criado especialmente para apresentações ao ar livre. Eles se alternarão na ocupação do largo com o mineiro Vanilton Lakka, que traz ao Rio Interferência inacabada: preste atenção ao ruído ao fundo. Às 15h30 e às 18h. E também com os goianos Rodrigo Cruz e Rodrigo Cunha, com Dúplice, às 16h. Espaços como o Centro de Artes Helio Oiticica, Largos das Artes, Palácio Gustavo Capanema e outros também fazem parte do circuito. A programação completa do Sentido>Centro está disponível aqui.
Este ano, o público do Panorama também poderá conferir o trabalho dos artistas-residentes do projeto coLABoratorio, que vem acontecendo desde o início do ano no Rio de Janeiro e em Teresina. Ao todo, 30 artistas tiveram a oportunidade de conviver, trabalhar e discutir a dança contemporânea com seis coreógrafos convidados do Brasil e exterior. Durante o festival, os artistas-residentes participarão do Se me desse o teatro, projeto de ocupação do Teatro Cacilda Becker. A ideia é que eles trabalhem de forma conjunta na criação de trabalhos, que serão apresentados ao público nos dias 8 e 9 de novembro, de 16h às 21h.
De um lado, espaço para novos nome, de outro a preservação da história da dança carioca. Visando isso, o Panorama promove este ano o programa Cariocas 10 anos, reunindo durante dois dias – 13 e 14 de novembro – no palco do Teatro Sérgio Porto dois espetáculos que estão comemorando 10 anos: Terras, da Esther Weitzman Companhia de Dança, e De areia e mar, com Andrea Jabor e Ricky Seabra. “Sempre tivemos o desejo de remontar este trabalho. É uma obra seminal, meio clássica, atemporal. Conversando recentemente com o Ricky percebemos como o mundo mudou nesses 10 anos. Esse programa do Panorama é importante pois é construir uma memória da dança carioca. O primeiro trabalho de uma companhia sempre tem uma assinatura forte e é o que acontece aqui”, analisa Andrea.

With more than 30 attractions in the most different spots around Rio de Janeiro, Festival Panorama de Dança 2009 starts on November 5th. Until November 15, great names of contemporary dance will perform on the city’s stages, like Alain Buffard, Vera Mantero and Ballet de Lorraine, besides important Brazilian artists.
The opening night will have Ballet de Lorraine performing Répertoire – Lamentation (Martha Gaham), La mère e Étude révolutionnaire (Isadora Duncan), Duo d’Eden (Maguy Marin), Steptext (William Forsythe), at João Caetano Theater, at 20h. There will also be a tribute to dance critic Roberto Pereira, who died in July, at age 43. The festival will remember the researcher and professor with the participation of piano-player Cadu Pereira and a screening of a selection of dance scenes from the first years of cinema.
However, at 16h, the kids can already watch De esconder para lembrar, which kicks off the Little Panorama Panoraminha, the children’s program at Espaço SESC. The work uses contemporary dance to explore children’s dreams, fears and memories. This Friday, French choreographer Alain Buffard shows (Not) a love song, at 20h, at Teatro Carlos Gomes. In this piece, the choreographer invited well known performer-creators to take part in this free homage to cinema. The evening will also have the premiere of Gustavo Ciríaco’s Nada. Vamos ver, at CAIXA Cultural – Teatro Nelson Rodrigues and the launching of Membros, a book by Paulo Azevedo and Taís Vieira, at 18h in the Choreographic Center.
Among the Brazilians, Companhia Ângelo Madureira e Ana Catarina Vieira presents O animal mais forte do mundo.2 on November 12, at 20h, in Teatro Carlos Gomes. For them, after so many years the expectation is great. “Our work changed a lot. We want find out how the contact of the audience with our language research will be like. We have been to Rio in other opportunities, but outside the festival is not the same thing. It mobilizes the art community, it promotes exchanges with other artists”, Ana Catarina believes.
II International Dance Economy Seminar
After a successful editions in 2008 – which even resulted in a follow up meeting in Salvador – the International Dance Economy Seminar is being held once again. It will take place from Friday to Wednesday, at the Auditorium of Sebrae’s Centro de Referência do Artesanato Brasileiro (Praça Tiradentes 71, Centro), starting at 9h30 (in the afternoon, the work groups will get together).
This year the reports/debates are aimed at approximating the economic and the dance fields, starting from their tensions in today´s world. With that in mind, the participants will present different national and international scenarios. The goal – as it was in 2008 – is to produce documents that can become research material in the future. The debates produced in 2008 are available at the Seminar’s blog.
Besides the national and international attractions of the main program (click here to see all dates), this is the second year the festival presents Little Panorama, only with shows specially recommended for kids. This year, the pieces are: Cia. Meia Ponta’s De esconder para lembrar, Chamecki & Lerner’s Borbulho, Rodrigo Bernardi`s “à la carte” um convite ao universo das danças urbanas and Teatro Xirê’s Quando eu crescer, eu quero ser….
A great hit in the previous editions, the Sentido>Centro program will once again take over the city’s public and/or alternative spaces in the second weekend of the festival, November 13 and 14. The French artists of Cia. Farid’O will perform Estar na ruaInterferência inacabada: preste atenção ao ruído ao fundo. At 15h30 and 18h. Also Rodrigo Cruz and Rodrigo Cunha will perform Dúplice, at 16h. Spaces like Centro de Artes Helio Oiticica, Largos das Artes, Palácio Gustavo Capanema and others will also be part of the circuit. They will take turns occupying the square with Vanilton Lakka, who brings to Rio the piece
Another endeavor that was successful in 2008 and will be repeated in 2009 is the International Dance Economy Seminar, a partnership between Festival Panorama and Sebrae. It will take place on November 9, 10 and 11, at the Auditorium of Sebrae’s Centro de Referência do Artesanato Brasileiro (Praça Tiradentes 71, Centro). This year the thematic axis seeks to approximate the economic and the dance fields, starting from their tensions in today´s world. With that in mind, the participants will present different national and international scenarios. The goal – as it was in 2008 – is to produce documents that can become research material in the future. The entrance for the seminar is free, but those interested in participating must register beforehand through the e-mail seminario@panoramafestival.com until Thursday (3/11). A blog was created to keep the documents resulting from the encounter.
The residencies are also open for submissions. French researcher Christophe Wavelet will conduct a theoretical residency between November 6 and 14. And the collective Couve-flor minicomunidade artística mundial brings Infiltrações, which will involve artists interested in exploring space and creating routes and maps upon them. Those interested in participating in the theoretical residency must apply beforehand through the e-mail oficinas@panoramafestival.com and those interested in participating in the Infiltrações project must send an e-mail to infiltracoescouveflor@gmail.com.
This year the audience of Panorama will able to check out the work of the artists-residents of the coLABoratorio project, which has been happening since the beginning of the year in Rio de Janeiro and Teresina. All in all, 30 artists had the opportunity to get together, work and discuss contemporary dance with six choreographers from Brazil and abroad. During the festival, the artists-residents will participate in the Se me desse o teatro program, a project for the occupation of Cacilda Becker Theater. The idea is that they will work jointly to create the pieces, which will be presented to the audience on November 8 and 9, from 16h to 21h.
On one hand, space for new artists, on the other, the preservation of the dance history in Rio de Janeiro. With that goal, this year Panorama brings the program Cariocas 10 anos, for two days – November 13 and 14 – two shows that are celebrating 10 years will take the stage of Sérgio Porto theater: Esther Weitzman Companhia de Dança’s Terras, and Andrea Jabor and Ricky Seabra’s De areia e mar. “We always wished to restage this work . It´s a seminal piece, kind of classic, timeless. In a recent conversation with Ricky we realized how the world has changed in the last ten years. This program of Panorama is important because it´s building the memory of dance from Rio de Janeiro. The first work of a company always has a strong mark and this is what´s happening here”, Andrea analyses.
