After participating in the Les Inaccoutumés 2008 festival, in Paris, Marcela Levi presents In-Organic at Solis theater, in Montevideo, Uruguay.
In this piece, from 2007, Marcela uses a 25 meters long pearl necklace, an embalmed ox’s head, hairpins and a bicycle lantern to create a relationship of superposition between those objects and her body.
Besides being praised in Brazil, In-Organic was named three times in ballettanz’s 2008 Yearbook. The publication selected the dance highlights of the year – in the opinion of 40 critics – and divided them in categories like innovative production, young dancer to watch, and even infuriating dance event. Tiago Bartolomeu Costa, from Obscena magazine and idança columnist, named In-Organic as innovative production, and Katja Praznik, from Maska, as important production. Katja also voted for Marcela Levi in the outstanding choreographer category.
In January, the performance will presented in Europe again.
