The results of two selection processes for support were recently announced. The Secretaria de Estado de Cultura do Rio de Janeiro (Culture Secretary of the State of Rio de Janeiro) published last Tuesday (9/12) the list of projects selected by the Programa de Fomento 2008 (Foment Program) in Diário Oficial. In the field of Performing Arts/Dance, 14 projects were selected to receive support worth up to R$ 90 thousand. Check out the complete list here (page 20 of Diário Oficial).
The Instituto Votorantim also announced the result of the 3º Programa de Democratização CulturalEntrando na Dança project – carried out by Associação Cultural Panorama – and Centro de Movimento Deborah Colker. (Program for Cultural Democratization). The R$ 4 million investment will be distributed to 16 projects from different cultural areas, among them were two dance actions:
With the goal of stimulating educators to develop educational projects outside the school based on cultural and artistic proposals , Instituto Itaú Cultural, through Rumos Educação, Cultura e Arte selected 12 educators. Each one will receive a R$ 10 thousand award and will have their work spread in events and publications of the institute. (click here to see the complete list of winners). Among the winners is Paulo Azevedo, director of Membros Cia. de Dança, for his work with the kids from the communities of Macaé, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The company – which performed in Panorama 2008 – was also selected to receive the support of Secretaria de Estado de Cultura do Rio de Janeiro.
