Abaixo-assinado em apoio ao Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu | Petition in support of Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu
Indignados com a situação que levou à saída do coreógrafo Marcelo Evelin da direção do Teatro Municipal João Paulo II – onde funcionava com sucesso o Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu -, artistas de todo o Brasil uniram forças num abaixo-assinado online para dar apoio ao trabalho realizado há três anos no Núcleo. Depois de meses de negociações com o atual presidente da Fundação Cultural Monsenhor Chaves, Cineas Santos, os 21 artistas do projeto também pediram demissão (clique aqui para ler mais sobre as demissões).

Depois de três meses de negociações infrutíferas, os 21 artistas do Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu foram levados a um pedido de demissão em massa. Uma incompatibilidade que se revelou incontornável com a política da nova gestão da Fundação Municipal de Cultura, e inviabilizou a continuidade do importante trabalho que realizavam há três anos no Teatro Municipal João Paulo II, junto à comunidade do bairro do Dirceu, em Teresina. Isso significa que o modelo original e inspirador de políticas públicas lá implantado acaba de desaparecer.
Em momentos assim, é importante manifestar-se. Os que assinam abaixo estão protestando contra as razões que levaram esses artistas a pedir a sua demissão coletiva. E estão pedindo aos responsáveis pela política cultural de Teresina que novas formas de abrigo sejam viabilizadas para que o trabalho exemplar do Núcleo do Dirceu possa ter continuidade.

Outraged by the situation that lead to the resignation of choreographer Marcelo Evelin as director of Teatro Municipal João Paulo II – where the successful Núcleo do Dirceu carried out its activities –, artists from all over Brazil joined forces in an online petition in support of the work fulfilled in the last three years. After months negotiating with Cineas Santos, the current president of Fundação Cultural Monsenhor Chaves, the 21 members of the group also quitted (click here to read more about the resignations).

An overwhelming incompatibility regarding to the Fundação Municipal de Cultura’s new administration and policies showed up a new situation in which it is impossible to maintain the important artistic and pedagogical work, done for three years now, at the Teatro Municipal João Paulo II, along with Dirceu’s neighborhood community, in Teresina, Brazil. This means that this original and inspiring model on Public Politics is now over.
We manifest our support to the Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu Artists. Here, the below-signed, protest against the reasons which brought those Artists to ask for a collective resignation. We are also asking to the Teresina Cultural political governor new ways of developing a place and conditions of work in with the great and exemplar Núcleo do Dirceu can keep on living and producing culture.
