About

Creating the possibility of national and international exchange on contemporary dance is a basic step for development. Bringing together people, abilities and knowledge to make the circulation of ideas possible is also a political attitude. It is the belief in information democracy and professionalization that got us together in this project. This is a non-profitable project kept so far by the sponsorship of Petrobras – through and of Rouanet Law – and of Secretaria de Estado de Cultura (RJ) through ICMS Law, besides supports and partnerships in Brazil and abroad.Over the last couple of years, the portal flourished and originated other projects: movimento.org, a social network developed in partnership with Red Sudamericana de Danza; idança.txt, a series of pdf publications made possible by the support of the Prince Claus Fund; and wikidança, a collaborative encyclopedia about dance that will be launched in March. Follow the links and find out more about each one.VisitationBetween January and December 2010, idança had 553.955 pageviews and 253.292 visits. Within the national territory, the visits came from 472 cities. The international visitation was also high, with visitants from 131 countries. The numbers were obtained through Google Analytics.
