Abril de festivais pelo mundo | April: festivals around the world
Abril é o mês da dança. A data oficial é comemorada dia 29, mas mesmo que o Dia Internacional da Dança não tivesse sido instituído em 1982 pela Unesco (numa homenagem ao bailarino Jean-Georges Noverre), é só olhar ao redor e comprovar a movimentação de festivais espalhados pelos quatro cantos do mundo. Literalmente.
A maratona começa com o festival itinerante de videodança Agite y sirva, que terá sua primeira ‘parada’ no México, a partir de quarta-feira (15/04). O Agite y sirva nasceu na 1ª Muestra Itinerante VideoDanzaBA México 2008 e se tornou independente ano passado.
Este ano, a programação traz curta, média e longa-metragens, além de uma mostra dedicada ao Brasil. A seleção completa do festival 2009 será mostrada pela primeira vez durante a Performática 2009 – 3er Foro Internacional de Danza Contemporánea y Artes del Movimiento, que acontecerá nas cidades mexicanas de Cholula y Puebla (confira aqui a lista completa com os 31 selecionados). Da América para a Europa. Na quinta-feira (16/04) começa em Berlim a 4ª edição do brasil move berlim – Festival de Dança Contemporânea Brasileira, que leva à capital alemã uma programação essencialmente de artistas brasileiros. Além das apresentações, o festival oferece workshops com os artistas convidados e palestras. No último fim de semana do evento acontece ainda o encontro de pesquisadores brasileiros e alemães para discutir o tema Reconstrução e Memória da Dança. A partir do dia seguinte, 17 de abril, Bologna (Itália) recebe a 9ª edição do F.I.S.Co. – Festival Internazionale sullo Spettacolo Contemporaneo. Este ano com o tema Tribu, os trabalhos selecionados investigam, de alguma forma, conceitos ligados a comunidades e colônias. A programação reúne espetáculos de dança, performances, instalações e obras de artes plásticas.
Entre as atrações estão Antonija Livingstone/Heather Kravas (Can/EUA/Fra), com um programa dividido em quatro partes; e Olaf Breuning (China), com a videoinstalação MAMbo Chinese Theatre, que fará sua estreia mundial no festival. Ainda tem fôlego? A parada seguinte será Manchester (Inglaterra), onde acontecerá o moves09 – International Festival of Movement on Screen entre os dias 23 e 28 de abril. Comemorando a 5ª edição, o festival vai explorar as possibilidades de narrativa do movimento na tela. Serão mais de 20 telas espalhadas por 10 espaços, além do ‘espaço virtual’ – onde os internautas poderão assistir aos vídeos participantes – e o media lab, laboratório que permite a qualquer pessoa criar seu próprio vídeo, aproximando artistas e público.
E fechando o mês de abril, dia 30, o elogiado Kunstenfestivaldesarts abre sua extensa programação que segue até 23 de maio em Bruxelas. Na noite de abertura se apresenta o francês Boris Charmatz/Association Edna com La danseuse malade. Também estão na programação Jérôme Bel com Un spectateur, The Forsythe Company com Heteropatia e Dominique Roodthooft com Smatch (foto). Do Brasil, Maurício Dias e Walter Riedweg organizam exposição com trabalhos recentes, como Funk staden, sobre a cena funkeira carioca, além de desenvolver um projeto pelos bairros de Bruxelas em coprodução com o festival. De México a Alemanha, passando por Itália e Bruxelas, não importa o idioma, a língua falada em todos é universal: a dança.
April is dance month. The official date is celebrated on the 29, but even if International Dance Day had not been established by Unesco in 1982 (in tribute to dancer Jean-Georges Noverre), it would be enough to look around and see the many festivals taking place all over the world. Literally.
The marathon begins with Agite y sirva, an itinerant videodance festival with its first ‘stop’ in Mexico on Wednesday (15/04). Agite y sirva was born at 1ª Muestra Itinerante VideoDanzaBA México 2008 and became independent last year.
This year, the program includes short and feature films, besides a showcase focusing on Brazil. The complete selection of the 2009 festival will be screened for the first time at Performática 2009 – 3er Foro Internacional de Danza Contemporánea y Artes del Movimiento, which will take place in the Mexican cities of Cholula y Puebla (read the complete list of the 31 selected works). From America to Europe. On Thursday (16/04) the 4th edition of brasil move berlim – Festival de Dança Contemporânea Brasileira starts in Berlin, taking a program mainly composed of Brazilian artists. Besides the performances, the festival offers lectures and workshops with invited artists. Out of breath yet? The next stop will be Manchester (England), where moves09 – International Festival of Movement on Screen will take place between April 23 and 28. Celebrating its 5th edition, the festival will explore the possibilities of movement narrative on screen. There will be over 20 screens scattared over 10 venues, besides the ‘virtual space’ – where internet users can watch videos participating – and the media lab, a lab that allows anyone to create their own videos, bringing artists and audience closer.
Wrapping up the month, on the 30th, praised Kunstenfestivaldesarts starts its extensive program, which will go on until May 23 in Brussels. Boris Charmatz/Association Edna will perform La danseuse malade in the opening night. Also in the program, Jérôme Bel with Un spectateur and The Forsythe Company with Heteropatia. From Brazil, Maurício Dias and Walter Riedweg organize an exhibition with recent works like Funk staden, about the funk scene in Rio de Janeiro, besides developing a project through the Brussels neighborhoods in co-production with the festival.
