Núcleo do Dirceu: trabalhos no Rio e nova sede em Teresina | Núcleo do Dirceu showcases works in Rio and has new headquarters

Mal começou e 2009 certamente será um ano inesquecível para os integrantes do Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu, de Teresina.  Em cinco meses, o coletivo nascido há três anos pelas mãos do coreógrafo Marcelo Evelin perdeu sua sede – num polêmico rompimento com a prefeitura de Teresina -; participou em peso do festival Brasil Move Berlim, na capital alemã; recebeu o Prêmio APCA 2008 na categoria Políticas Públicas para a Dança; e desembarca no Rio de Janeiro com o projeto CAIXA Mostra Dirceu, com espetáculos e workshops.

“Nossa proposta era um programa bastante diversificado, com vários tipos de espetáculo, um pouco de tudo o que fazemos no Núcleo. Acabamos de voltar de Berlim e será muito bom dialogar no Rio de Janeiro”, explica Marcelo Evelin, que mostra a instalação Mono – ao lado de Cipó e Jacob Alves – no sábado e no domingo (16 e 17/05). O CAIXA Mostra Dirceu será aberto com Corpo Manual (Jamila Rocha, na foto) e 02Heterogêneo (Alexandre Santos e César Costa), quinta e sexta-feira (14 e 15/05), às 19h. No fim de semana serão apresentados Mono, às 17h, e Mediatriz (Elielson Pacheco, Janaína Lobo e Weyla Carvalho), às 19h (com bate-papo com o público após a sessão de sábado). Haverá ainda workshops de dança contemporânea (sexta-feira) e de break dance (domingo). “Os primeiros trabalhos formam um programa que nós chamamos ‘jovem guarda’ pois são criações mais simples, de artistas novos, sem muito cenário. Mono é uma instalação em três espaços distintos que  acontecerá no foyer. Já é uma versão um pouco diferente da que estreou, em maio de 2008. E Mediatriz é um espetáculo de palco mais elaborado, sobre como o público vê a dança”, enumera Evelin.

Os cariocas têm a oportunidade de conferir o trabalho realizado pelos artistas piauienses num momento conturbado enfrentado pelo coletivo. No fim de março Marcelo Evelin deixou a direção do Teatro Municipal João Paulo II (TMJP2) – antiga sede do Núcleo – alegando incompatibilidade com a atual presidência da Fundação Cultural Monsenhor Chaves (leia mais aqui), que administra o teatro. Sem uma sede permanente, as atividades do coletivo estão sendo retomadas aos poucos num galpão doado. É lá que estão sendo realizadas os encontros do colaboraToRIO – projeto em parceria com o Panorama de Dança.

“O galpão não é o lugar ideal, mas estamos retomando aos poucos. Os ânimos estão mais tranquilos agora, acabou toda a ideia de hierarquia, todos estão fazendo tudo. Essas mudanças deram uma chacoalhada no comprometimento de todos com o trabalho”, analisa Evelin. O próximo passo é encontrar um espaço definitivo para desenvolver as atividades, o que poderá acontecer em breve, com a oficialização do Ponto de Cultura. “Estamos entendendo como é a situação agora pois muita coisa mudou e ainda vai mudar. Passamos por um momento forte e percebi que estão todos muito comprometidos. Isso é bom.”

2009 barely started, but this year will certainly be unforgettable for the members of Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu, created three years ago by choreographer Marcelo Evelin in Teresina. During the last five months, the group lost their headquarters – in a controversial rupture with the mayor of Teresina –; they participated intensely in the Brasil Move Berlim festival, in the German capital; they received the APCA 2008 (“São Paulo Art Critics Association”) award in the Public Policy for Dance category; and now they land in Rio de Janeiro for the CAIXA Mostra Dirceu project, a showcase with shows and workshops.

“Our proposal was a very diversified program, with many different types of shows, a little of everything we do in the Núcleo. We just came back from Berlin and it´ll be very good to debate in Rio de Janeiro”, explains Marcelo Evelin, who will show the installation Mono – besides Cipó and Jacob Alves – on Saturday and Sunday (16 and 17/05). CAIXA Mostra Dirceu will be open with Corpo Manual (Jamila Rocha, photo) and 02Heterogêneo (Alexandre Santos and César Costa), Thursday and Friday (14 and 15/05), at 19h. On the weekend, the showcase will bring Mono, at 17h, and Mediatriz (Elielson Pacheco, Janaína Lobo and Weyla Carvalho), at 19h (after the session on Staurday there will be a debate with the audience). Mono is an installation in three distinct spaces and will take place in the foyer. This version is already slightly different from the one that premiered in May, 2008. And Mediatriz is a more elaborate stage show, about how the audience sees dance”, describes Marcelo. Contemporary dance and break dance workshop will be held on Friday and Sunday, respectively. “The first works are part of a program we call ‘new school’ since they are more simple creations, by young artists, without much stage settings.

The audience in Rio de Janeiro will have the chance to see the work carried out by the artists from Piauí during a stormy period for the group. At the end of March, Marcelo Evelin left his position as director of Teatro Municipal João Paulo II (TMJP2) – the group’s former headquarters – claiming incompatibility with the current president of Fundação Cultural Monsenhor Chaves, which manages the theatre (read more about it here). Without a permanent working space, the group has slowly returned to their activities in a donated warehouse. That is where the activities of colaboraToRIO project are taking place. The project is a partnership with Panorama de Dança.

“The warehouse is not the ideal place, but we´re slowly getting back to our activities. The atmosphere is calmer now, the whole idea of hierarchy is over, everybody is doing everything. Theses changes shook up everyone’s commitment with the work”, Evelin analyses. The next step is finding a permanent space to develop the group’s activities, which may happen soon with the officialization of Ponto de Cultura, a Brazilian government program to encourage local cultural activities.
